Savannah proposes an unchanged 11.749-mill rate that is 3% above the rollback rate
Savannah tentatively adopted a 2026 millage rate of 11.749 mills, unchanged from 2025 but 0.347 mills above the 11.402 rollback rate. Georgia law therefore requires the city to advertise a 3.0% property-tax increase. Public hearings are August 13 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Why it matters
Keeping the nominal rate unchanged while assessments rise can increase city revenue and some property-tax bills. Residents need to connect the additional collections with specific budget commitments and property-level effects.
